MY STORY
IN A NUTSHELL

Movie geek and wanna be filmmaker turned music composer for media content of all sorts. I have turned my storytelling abilities from visual storytelling to musical storytelling. My love for the horror, sci-fi and adventure genres led me to specialize in said genres. Occasionally, I may get in touch with my human side and do something dramatic and heartfelt.

Currently, I am the assistant composer for acclaimed film composer Richard Band (From Beyond, Re-Animator, Puppet Master, Stargate - The Series) but I am trying to break free of the shackles and go at it solo. I have scored one short and one feature as of 2025 outside of any assignment with Richard Band.

Additionally, I create my own indie music albums that I call “concept soundtrack albums”. These are of 2 types. the first entails re-scoring a genre movie I liked growing up with my own music as if I were the original composer hired. The other type of album entails me writing my own story outline and composing a 30 - 70+ minute music composition as though it were a soundtrack to a movie version of the same story.

I welcome working with content creators of all kinds and all skill levels. If interested in working with me after reviewing my work, feel free to contact me on the contact page.

MY P.R.O.

I am registered with BMI for all my Performer Rights Organization needs (aka: Royalty Payouts). This way I can paid royalties on any and all of my music that is used in projects continuing to make money.

MY MUSIC BACKGROUND

While my professional career may have only started in the last few years, however, my background in the film music industry spans 25+ years. I became interested in film music as a teenager. I started collecting soundtracks and it was more than just a casual listening experience.  I studied the music and started playing along by learning to "play by ear" - much like how Danny Elfman learned to play and compose music in his youth.

While in high school, I was in the symphonic orchestras playing in the percussion section. Eventually,  I was encouraged by my band class teacher to take music theory, composition and choral classes (specifically to understand 4-part writing).  At home, I started creating my own compositions.  Basically, I would plug my Casio keyboard into the boom box via the "line-In" functionality and just recorded my "stream of consciousness" improve sessions.  I called these "musical sketches" to which I had hoped to return to one day and improve upon. I also made attempts at "scoring" scenes from several horror movies when my parents got me a bigger and better Casio synth a year or so later. Still plugging it into the boom box though.  No MIDI or personal computer to use. I also still have all these recordings today both on the original TDK cassette tapes and as digital files on my computer.

While attending Indiana University, I maintained close affiliations with the Music School students and working on Opera productions in both the Scene Shop and Stage Crew. Though I eventually obtained a BA in Fine Arts, I continued to study of Music Theory, and Composition while adding Music History, and a MIDI courses to his repertoire. I also continued composing more musical sketches on the side.
